Neva Joan Sales

Neva Joan Sales, 79, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 due to long term health issues. She was born on April 29, 1936 in Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Neil Sales; her mother, Lucille Bethel; brother, Reginald Bethel; nephew, Mark Sales; and son-in-law, David Nichols.

Neva and Neil met at an early age and quickly fell in love. They married on January 4, 1952 and started their lives together. She became a homemaker for the early years of their marriage. After many years together, Neil and Neva opened their own barber shop in Louisville. Neva continued to barber until she retired at age 65. She quickly changed her focus to spending time with her family and grandchildren. A quiet person, Neva's greatest joy was to spend time with those she loved. She leaves behind six children: Tommy Sales, Betty Jo Nichols, Susan Harkins(Bill), Mell Sales, Julia Spencer(Bruce Wee), and Craig Sales(Rachael); and her 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and a few lifelong friends.

Beloved Mother, she will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Evergreen Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 12pm-2pm that Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hosparus or American Lung Association.
