Nguyet was always busy in life. An astute business person, a very talented cook, a seamstress, a beautician. She could do anything she set her mind to, always with an eye to quality. She loved her work and her customers and they obviously loved her. She so cherished that!
She was never too busy to care for her family and friends. She was a perfect housemate and loving wife. Nguyet was so proud of her brother-in-law, U.S. Army war hero Joe Keene. Joe married her sister Kim during the Vietnam War, eventually making immigration to the U.S. possible for Nguyet, her mother and siblings. She was such a proud American citizen and exercised her right to vote in even the most minor of elections. Leaving the polls she would always smile really big and say "I did my American citizenship today!"
She is preceded in death by her father Tac Van Nguyen and mother Ngoc Thi Nguyen and also brothers Anh Hoang Nguyen and Tâm Van Nguyen. She is survived by her husband Todd, kidney sister Sharon (husband David) Ehresman, and sisters, Kim (husband Joe) Keene, Cuong (husband Cuong) Nguyen, and Loan (husband Evan) Bradley also brothers, Nghia Nguyen (Hoa), Phương Nguyen (wife Tuyen), and Thang Nguyen (wife Hang). She loved and worried over 19 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews both in this country and still back home in Vietnam.
The miracle workers at UofL Brown Cancer Center gave her nearly four years of extended life and she didn't waste a second of it. She got to ring their bells 3 times! She has fought and won so many hard battles only to lose this final one, the one we will all lose someday. Hosparus Health kept her clean and comfortable and provided such a welcoming and peaceful place for her family and friends to share her final moments and say goodbye.
