

After moving to Louisville, Kentucky from Haines City, Florida, Norma passed away on July 27, 2024, at Traditions at Beaumont, where Norma had lived for the last one and one-half years,
After being twice widowed, Norma married James Benesch who survives her, sharing fourteen years together.
Norma was born September 19, 1936, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of William Carl Watson and Cleotha Helen Burkhead, both of whom predeceased her. She graduated in 1955 from Valley High School, in Louisville, Kentucky and was employed by GMAC for many years, until her retirement.
In Norma’s younger years she was an avid bowler. Then she discovered golf and continued to play as long as her health allowed.
Besides her husband, Norma is survived by her cousins, Allen Wayne McDowell (Doris) and Donna Marie Dittoe (Mike).
Norma will be remembered for her outgoing and friendly personality, and her love for dogs. She will be missed by her family and many friends. She had a big heart and was really close to her uncle “Buggy” and aunt “Doty”, the parents of Wayne and Donna. Norma even bought a condo and let her uncle and aunt live there rent free, for the rest of their lives.
The funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM, directly following visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A private committal will occur following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hosparus Health, 6200 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40205.
