Porter, Opal, 85, entered into eternal rest on March 19, 2017. Opal was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a lifetime member of the Churchill Downs VFW #2921 Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbie Porter.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Vivian McCauley (Cletus), Joe Roberts (Robin), and Luther Roberts (Sandy); 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great, great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Effie Nipper.
A Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 23rd, at 10:00am at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery following the service.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in Opal’s name to the VFW National Home for Children.
