She was born 10/30/1952, to Mary and Elmo Shake in Louisville, KY. Gail grew up with her three brothers Tom, Steve and Jim off Homeview Drive spending hours laughing and just being kids in their “half ounce of heaven”. After graduating from Iroquois High School she went on to become a bookkeeper for Louisville Hearing Aid Center where she retired.
Gail or Bad Granny as most came to know her brought a smile to anyone that met her. She taught you tomorrow is not promised to anyone, that everything happens for a reason and today should be spent making memories that will last a lifetime! She enjoyed family gatherings and time with her grandson (her partner in crime) in their “happy place” Belterra.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Kara Lynette Hinton (Tim); her brother, Jim Shake and her grandson Austin Ray Hinton. Her two nieces Amy Thornton (Jeff) and Christy Lawes; two nephews Jay Baribeau (Cara) and Charlie Baribeau (Jenet); and a sister-in-law Linda Cagle (Alan). Gail has many great nieces, great nephews and friends who were very special to her.
Gail is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Shake Murphy Little; her father, Elmo Shake; stepfathers, Raymond Murphy and Earl Little; her brothers, Thomas Shake and Stephen Shake; her niece, Teresa Shake her first husband, Thomas Vickroy and her soulmate and husband Michael Daunhauer. Gail also had many special Great Aunts and Uncles who left this world too soon.
Visitation to celebrate the memories and times that Gail had with her family and friends will be at Arch L Heady Resthaven Wednesday November 27, 2024 from 4-8pm with burial service for immediate family only on Friday.
