Pat was an extremely involved and passionate teacher sponsoring; cheerleaders, pom-pom girls, pep club, senior class, Good News Club, yearbook and Junior Achievement. She loved all her students and would often say she never "worked" a day in her life, as she enjoyed going to school every day.
After retiring, she worked at the Kentucky Derby Museum giving tours and working with rentals. She was also a church secretary. She volunteered for many organizations. She was a member of the Beechmont Woman's Club and was president from 2012 to 2014.
Pat worked for National Geographic as a teaching consultant. She has numerous awards throughout her life. Her most proud was being inducted into the Male High School Hall of Fame in 2013. She was also a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority Theta chapter.
Pat was creative and loved to make cards and sew dresses. She also learned to watercolor paint in her later years. She was fun and had a fantastic sense of humor. She stayed very active, enjoying time with her daughter, Pam and her many friends.
First and foremost, Pat was a Christian. She was a former member of Beechmont Baptist Church teaching Sunday school, choir, library, VBS, and WMU. She joined Grace Pointe Baptist Church where she loved her Esther class and church members. She loved her Lord and Savior and lived everyday to serve him. Her faith never wavered up until her last breath.
Pat is survived by her only daughter, Pam, who she loved so very much. She leaves behind a legacy to many friends, family and former students.
She requested no flowers, but rather contributions to Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Shoebox which was her passion and mission for many years. Those can be brought to her service, or dropped off at the church or with her daughter, Pam. (#packingforPat)
