

Born in Louisville, KY to John M. Hawk and Margaret Lipp, Paul served in the United States Air Force. He went on to have an exceptional career with the Louisville Fire Department and Pleasure Ridge Fire Department. Paul was a cherished patriarch, known for his devotion to his family, his work ethic, wisdom and love. He loved taking photos of nature, such as clouds and sunsets, the Green Bay Packers, and his coffee. He was truly a wonderful, loving man.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sandra Hawk; children Karyn Hawk-Lacefield (Brian), Leslie Hawk, and Megan Hawk; grandchildren Reghyn Lacefield, Jessica Lacefield (Bubba), and Amanda Lacefield (Tristen); great-grandchildren Malaysia and Cyncere Benton. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Hawk; his step-mother Elizabeth Hawk; and his son Patrick Hawk who was there to greet him up in Heaven.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY 40218. A funeral service in Paul's honor will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park, along with military honors.
