

Newton, Paul Edwin, Sr., 63, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, December 13, 2010, after a courageous fight against cancer. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who wanted nothing more than to make his family happy. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, and an avid UK fan. He was a US Army veteran during the Vietnam era, and retired general manager for Strike & Spare.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Adeline Newton; siblings, Mike and Martha Newton.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 42 years, Patricia Green Newton; son, Paul Newton Jr.; daughters, Angie Thomas (Larry) and Sherry Hurley (Joey); sister, Dody Ottman (Jimmy) and his special loves, his ten grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Terri Newton.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at noon, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 8409 Hudson Lane, with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoelum. Visitation will be on Friday, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9.am. till 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
