

Paul Douglas Watson, lovingly known as “Pappaw,” of Taylorsville, KY, passed away on April 19, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on July 16, 1932, Paul lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
Paul retired from General Electric and then continued for many years as a self-employed truck driver. He was also drafted into the United States Army, where he served as a medic at the end of the Korean War.
A man who found joy in the simple and meaningful things, Paul loved being outdoors. Whether gardening, mowing, or caring for his animals, he took great pride in his land. Over the years, he worked tirelessly to turn his 13 acres into a peaceful sanctuary that reflected his steady spirit and love for nature.
Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanetta Watson; his parents, Otis and Lissie Watson; and his nine siblings: Lawrence, Luna, John, Ishmael, Everett, Pearl, Bill, Helen, and Mary.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Watson (Patty); his daughter, Paula Cox (Darrell); grandchildren, Chrissy (Brian), Jesse, Emily (Chris), and Libby (Matthew); and great-grandchildren, Easton, Emersyn, Brenna, and Bodie.
Paul will be remembered for his God-loving spirit, his kind heart, his gift for storytelling, and his sweet, welcoming smile. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral Service will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218, on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218, on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
