In case anyone that does not know where I fit into this great McKnight family, I am (Bettys daughter) the oldest niece  and the oldest grandchild. Gosh, you might know  I’m stuck with the oldest. Lol! I don’t know where to begin to say how much I love my Aunt Pauline. I guess she and I must have bonded way back when I was about 1 year old and she was 15 and she baby sat with  me. Unbeknownst then to her and I, it carried through our whole lives. Her memory of things passed was amazing. I could asked her about everyone  in Ky and she could tell me how everyone was doing past and present and that made me feel more connected  to the family.  I could confide in her like she was  my second Mom . We would talk on the phone  for 2 and  3 hours and some  may wonder how could someone talk that long,  but we could.   I always enjoyed her and Uncle Donald’s visits to Florida and one trip my Hubby  Ken taught Uncle Donald how to make ceramics. What a hoot that was but he got the hang of it. I cherish the last trip Aunt Pauline and Aunt Kathryn made here to Florida.  We just visited  and enjoy each other company for the whole week. I could go on and on but I’m getting to long. So I just want to say that Aunt Pauline was loved by me for sure and everyone else . She was such a woman of faith and not a mean bone in her body.  Now she is with Our Dear Lord and all of our dear ones that have gone on before her. I will love you  always Aunt Pauline and will so miss out phone calls!  Until I see you again!

I am " Santa" at Christmas time.
A couple of years ago Aunt Pauline and Aunt Kathryn came to Florida to visit and stayed with Fran.
I thought it would be a nice to surprise the Aunts with a " Santa" visit specially to see them.

Of course they were happily surprised. 
The Aunts were excited and eager to get their pictures taken with me.
 
It was a great time visiting with them and having pics made with them.

I will always cherish our talks. Pauline always had a great memory to share whether it was from her childhood or adult life. Love you Pauline.

I'll never forget you Aunt Pauline.
My Sweet Aunt, was a sweet natured, gracious ,God loving woman. She faced many heartbreaking events in her life.
She faced them all with Faith, acceptance and love. 
She grew up not in the easiest of times..during the depression.
 Thru it all,  it built her character that we all come to love about her. She was resilient.
Strong in Faith and loving.

Living in Florida, I (her niece) didnt get to see her very often.
But when I did, she treated me as if she saw me everyday. She was very kind and interested in me and my life.  
She was very easy to talk to.. Very patient. She had a very easy - going nature. She was easily amused. She would chuckle and laugh which made her endearing.  She was amazed and loved to learn.  She loved going places, seeing new things.  I was always hearing about her travels, she was energetic.. Enthusiastic. 
 I never heard her say a disparaging word about anyone.

Thats what I know and remember about my Aunt Pauline, my Mother's sister.

I do rejoice in the knowledge that She is in heaven  looking down on me and each one of us...watching over us, along with all of our parents and Grandparents.

Heaven gained a powerful,faithful warrior and we lost a wonderful loving Aunt that we will never forget.

God Speed Aunt Pauline on your heavenly journey.

I’m a niece to Aunt Pauline (Betty’s daughter), although we moved away from Kentucky when I was very young, I still remember Aunt Pauline from visits and some early family reunions.  My memory of Aunt Pauline was always such a sweet, kind loving person, and Uncle Donald was such a jokester….she had the patience of Jobe with him.   Aunt Pauline was always so kind and sweet, never heard her say a bad word about anyone.  I do remember coming to visit yrs ago with my sister Fran and Ken and we stayed with Aunt Pauline….she was making those delicious cakes at that time, and they were the best.   I think of Betty’s children, those of us born in Kentucky, regret we couldn’t grow up among our aunts and uncles, and all our cousins, we missed so much not getting to bond w any of them. As for Aunt Pauline I’m sure everyone would agree that she was a wonderful person, sweet as the day is long, generous, kind, practically an angel in my eyes, she will be missed so much, and a void in all the lives she touched, they don’t make them like her anymore…..I just wanted to give her honor even though I didn’t have as much of a relationship as most of you did, you were all very lucky to have had her.  I will miss her sweet influence she had with all she met…I know she’s happy again, reunited with all her family and our Lord.

Aunt Pauline held more memories about the family … she could recall dates of birthdays, weddings, & special occasions…it was  awesome to hear her recall them! We will miss her…we know she is at peace with the Lord &  her heavenly family☦️

I have tons of memories.. but some of my favorites are from her trip to CO in 2020. Getting to sit and listen to her stories - she always amazed me how she could remember dates, birthdays, and anniversaries- She was excited to see the Mountains and Gardens of the Gods. I was excited to make her a Birthday cake like she and Nana used to make us. She ate a whole slice… then pass out once she got up from her chair. She expected to pass out, we did not. Thankfully we were walking with her and were able to catch her. No injuries! I had told her if I knew she wasn’t suppose to eat the sugar, we could have had something different. She told me She wanted the cake and it was too good not to finish! ❤️
