Fischer, Peggy Lois Thompson, 85, of Louisville, passed peacefully March 2, 2015 at The Masonic Home of Louisville. Peggy was born in Edmonton, KY September 18, 1929. She raised children and grandchildren continuously for 50 years.
Graduating from Ahrens Trade School, she went to work as a telephone operator before marrying Fred Fischer and devoting herself to becoming a homemaker. She and Fred met at Southern Junior High School.
Peggy was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, John Marshall Chapter. She regularly attended DAR events with her cousins, Nancy Thompson Lutz and Marianna Thompson Mincy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Fred Lamar Fischer; daughter, Janis Fischer Wahrmund; son-in-law, Donald Wahrmund; granddaughter, Susan Janelle Wahrmund; mother, Dixie Spencer Price; step father, Gordon K. Price; and father, William "Billy" Thompson.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Greg Fischer (Debra) and John Fischer (Tracy); granddaughters, Jackie Louise Wahrmund, Sarah Fischer Thomas (Andrew), Anna Fischer Batchelor (Kevin), Greer Kennedy Fischer, and Grace Thompson Fischer; great grandson, Dylan Walter Thomas; and loyal dog, Tucker.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday at 10am at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 3pm-8pm and Saturday from 9am-10am at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in honor of Peggy can be made to the Daughters of the American Revolution, John Marshall Chapter or the Masonic Home of Louisville.
