Peter Alexander Rosen, 62 of Louisville, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 29, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Al Rosen (Idell), his mother Jessie Rosen, and a brother, Jim Rosen. Pete is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Lisa Rosen; children, Irving Alex Rosen (Grace Hundley), Sabrina Hatfield, Jessica Kellem, Elizabeth Rosen, Jennifer Smallwood, Jacob Enci, Robert Enci and Johnna Rosen; his brother, Marty Rosen (Mary Bryan); grandchildren, Cameron Hatfield, Bryce and Aaliyah Benningfield. Pete also leaves behind a large extended family. Pete was the reassuring center of his family. He had a smart, quirky, sense of humor that shaped his world view and enriched the lives of those around him. Always independent-minded, he was a resourceful and compassionate man whose trademark expression from an early age was a lifted eyebrow and a skeptical grin. Pete graduated from Jeffersonville High School and enjoyed a varied career in his early years, including stints at his father’s businesses (Cut-Rate Liquors and Joe’s Palm Room). Later he discovered that driving a taxi fit perfectly with his love of personal autonomy, his appreciation and understanding of Louisville, and the delight he took in meeting all kinds of people. In time, Pete moved from cab to office and became director of driver relations at Yellow Cab. In that role, he became a trusted friend, leader, and mentor to a richly diverse team of drivers who appreciated the respect he demonstrated to everyone he worked with, regardless of where they came from. A visitation will be held from 1-8 pm on Monday, January 6, 2020. A memorial service to celebrate Pete’s life will be conducted at 12 noon Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady – Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Please visit us online at www.archlheadycralle.com

Many memories to have and to hold over the years .Pete came into my life when I was just 2 years old . I remember being young and being in brown county indiana for a family trip, and me constantly telling him to sit down Pete! Sit down. And his response was I am sitting down you sit down! Lol He took on a huge role , and that of being a role model to me. He was always caring, funny , sometimes even scary when we knew we were in trouble lol. But that was the role and part of being a dad ! From advice about simple things in life , things that were challenging at times, to the weeks of starting school and big lots shopping trips of which was his favorite store ! He was always a family man and knew the true meaning of love. I will cherish the memories and time spent over the years. I will keep you in my heart until we meet again dad . You will be missed dearly, and my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends that also got to know how awesome you truly were. Love always - Elizabeth a.ka "beanie"

I'm so sorry to read of Pete's passing. I was a classmate of Pete's even though I didn't know him very well. He was always very friendly to me from what I remember and I just wanted to let his family and friends know that I am thinking of each one of you and Pete as well. Rest In Peace Pete and may God bless you, your family, and your friends.

Pete Rosen was a very good man. I am deeply saddened by this. I first met Pete in 2012 as a driver at Yellow Cab. I came back in 2015 and drove again. It was always nice seeing Pete. Any problem a driver had he was always there for you. Kind, funny and a very nice man. I just found out today about this. God Bless you and your Family Pete Rosen. Prayers for all of you. You will be missed my friend.

Pete will be missed. I met Pete many years ago when I worked the parking lots at Churchill Downs. He was great to work with during derby week and at other large days at the track. I enjoyed spending afternoons with him talking to pass the time. God speed, Pete!

Pete been nice and helpful all the time. When a driver needed any kind of help they sought him first even if that issue is not related to Pete responsibility. He always show you that support and comforting smile to encourage you talking about your situation. He will greatly missed and Pete please rest well, lots of us love you. My condolences to his family

So wonderful to read these heartfelt comments. I grew up with Pete. He was the little bro but never a pain or considered in the way. We gladly took him on our adventures. Some were probably inappropriate! Always an accurate judge of character. Independent and marched to his own drum which is part of his family legacy. Pete will b remembered with love and humor.
Rest in peace
