Phillip “PeeWee” Pawson Richey, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 5, 2026. Born on September 21, 1952, in Louisville, KY, PeeWee was the son of the late Gilbert Harrison Richey and Dorris Vivian Parker (Pawson). He was also preceded in death by his sister, Freeda Williams.
PeeWee’s life was marked by steady devotion, honest work, and a quiet bravery that showed itself in the way he cared for others. He attended Ahrens Trade School, building the foundation for a life defined by skill, perseverance, and pride in doing things the right way.
A hard-working and dependable presence, PeeWee worked as a mechanic for the City of Louisville for 20 plus years. He later served as a courier supervisor for CPA Lab, bringing the same patience, thoughtfulness, and reliability to every responsibility he accepted. In addition, PeeWee volunteered as a Firefighter for the city of Louisville—an enduring reflection of his selfless spirit, compassionate heart, and willingness to step forward when others needed help.
On July 21, 2007, PeeWee married Kelly O'Neill Richey. Together they shared a life rooted in love, loyalty, and family. PeeWee was family oriented in the truest sense—cherished by those closest to him, gentle in presence, and wise in the way he listened and cared. His humor could brighten ordinary moments, and his kind-hearted nature left people feeling seen, valued, and supported.
PeeWee found joy in the outdoors and took special comfort in the company of animals, with a deep love for animal rescue and an especially devoted bond with his dogs. He also enjoyed automobiles, metal detecting, and anything Alien and space related, including star gazing—interests that reflected a thoughtful spirit and a sense of wonder that never left him.
