Born on August 30, 1952, Phyllis lived a life full of strength, style, and unmistakable spirit. Phyllis was the strongest woman anyone had ever seen. She fought and fought through every challenge life placed before her, never losing her fire, her humor, or her stubborn will to keep going.
Her strength was incredible and her mouth was even crazier making her unforgettable to all who knew her. She adored crafting and poured her heart into every creation. She loved talking with people, connecting with anyone she met, and she always made sure she looked perfectly put together.
Phyllis had a remarkable ability to brighten someone’s day just by being herself. She shared 49 years of marriage with the love of her life, W.C. “Big Butch” Lankford, and now joins him again in Heaven.
She is also reunited with her mother Dorothy, her father, and her brother James Grant.
Phyllis leaves behind 2 sons, Jason Lankford and W.C. Lankford III; beloved sisters, Pat Tucker and Marlene Mueller; her cherished grandchildren Payton Lankford, W.C. Lankford IV (Bubby), Angle Raypole, and Bryson Alvey.
She will be deeply missed by countless friends, family members, and everyone whose life she touched.
Her laughter, her strength, her style, and her indomitable spirit will be remembered forever.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
