Gatewood, Rachel Ruth, 92, passed away October 1, 2016. She was born October 22, 1923 and a native of Lanesville, Indiana. Ruth enjoyed being a homemaker and an Avon representative and was a longtime member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard C. Gatewood; parents, Walter and Cora Yeager; four sisters; and two brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Anita Gowen (Terry E.), Leonard “Len” Gatewood (Nancy), and Cheryl Quebec; six grandchildren, Terry L. (Jenny), Shara (Jimmy), Tiffany, Chad (Jessica), Carrie, and Jeff (Stephanie); eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 12 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 pm-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Ruth can be made to Walnut Street Baptist Church.
