Ray was preceded in death by his parents Alvin Nix and Mary Lee Willoughby and siblings Rebecca Wathen, Mary Louise Cain, William Nix, Alvin Nix, Richard Nix, Louis “Tony” Brenner, William Jackson and Nancy Brown.
Ray leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Shirley Nix, children Raymond A. Nix Jr. (Annmarie), Wendy Barker (Bruce), Mary Marcum, Kennetha Liebert (Phil), Shelly Ray (Gary), LaRee Roberts and Darren Rountree, sister Celia Kessinger (Tom), 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A service to honor the life of Ray will be held Tuesday, September, 28th at 10am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, September, 27th from 1-7pm at the funeral home.
