In World War II, he was a first lieutenant on a B 24 bomber (navigator) that flew 50 missions (Army Air Forces 449th Bombing Group), based in Italy. His valor in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations was recognized. After the war, he had a successful residential home building business.
He was a graduate of St. Xavier and attended the University of Louisville. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Albert the Great Parish.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha, and four children; Tom (LA), Joan, Ann Holthouser (Kennett) and Nancy Jones (Greg).
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at St. Albert the Great Church. Visitation: 10am, Mass at 11am.
