Dick and Carol had a love that was hard to not notice even if you didn’t know them Really well . We were blessed with the opportunity to see them at our church and I helped them out with their family car needs occasionally and they were always so wonderful to be around , helping each other and also helping others in need . My family’s prayers will be with you and your family and I know Gods peace and comfort will help you through this time .

I go back to a time long, long ago (before he was Dr. Aud), just Dick. Our friendship goes to a time when I was 16 and he was about 20 years old. He was much older than me. I never let him live that down. Memory serves me about a trip we took to Nashville to meet up with two young ladies that we would spend the rest of our lives with. We were in my old VW and on a two lane road. I thought I could pass a big Buick, only to find out that the guy would not let us pass. I'm in the passing lane and an oncoming car is headed straight for us. I will never forget the look on Dick's face when we squeezed through. We talked about it for years. This is just one of so many memories we made over the years. He was one of my closest friends. Never Dr. Aud between us....just Dick. My heart is sad. I hope to take another road trip someday in heaven with my best friend, Dick. (If I can talk him into getting into the car with me.)

Our families have been united in friendship for many many years. We have celebrated life together on many occasions, and today we stand and grieve with you in loss. At every encounter, we always walked away inspired by Dick and Carol's beautiful and sincere love for one another. So genuine and truly sacrificial!
We love you Aud family, and our prayers are for peace and comfort for you heart's journey.

A true legend here in Louisville....
Dr. Aud was one of the most loved and respected family physicians by all in Louisville. His compassionate patient care, genuine bedside manner, and extraordinary ability to teach others made him one of the best! I was honored to have both the opportunity to be mentored by Dr. Aud as well as have the privilege to work with him in private practice. He will always hold a special place in my heart and never be forgotten. My sincere condolences to all his family and loved ones.

With deepest sympathy,
Stacy Trinkle

A wonderful mentor and compassionate physician who taught me so much about both medicine and the importance of work-life balance. I still quote this man to medical students regularly. All my love to the family.
