Richard Bertrand Britt

He was born to the late William Britt Sr. and Anna Lee Britt on October 28, 1945.

Richard was a 1964 graduate from Bishop David High School. He served in the US Navy from 1965 to 1968. In 1973 Richard graduated from the University of Louisville. After graduating he began a long career in data processing with the old First National Bank. Richard retired in 2008 from the Bank of America.

During his retirement Richard and his late wife Nesta enjoyed taking trips together to the national parks out west as well as numerous trips to Europe. Richard had many hobbies which included golf, poker, and watching old movies or as his daughter Kelly called them “black and white movies."

After his loving wife passed away in September of 2023, Richard always hoped he would be with her again, and now his is.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, his brother William (Bill) Britt Jr., and his brother-in-law, Dennis Ellis.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Tony Britt and Kelly Britt Rodriguez (Daniel), his sisters, Letitia Ellis and Toni Cummins (Kurt), along with countless nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Richard will be held Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 2, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A graveside service will occur Monday, December 2, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
