Robert Ray “Bob” Williams Sr., 79, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, September 22, 2014. Bob was born on March 1, 1935 to the late Ray and Rebekah Williams of Simpsonville, Kentucky. He attended Western Kentucky University where he was a member of ROTC. Bob served as a Staff Sergeant with the United States Army, 100th Division. He retired from Texas Gas Transmission Corporation with 37 years of service, and was an active member of Hikes Point Christian Church. Bob is survived by the love of his life of 56 years, Mary Ann; his children, Robert Jr. (Brenda), Lisa Hale (Jon), John (Lori), Kathleen Niestadt; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Nancy Jones of Simpsonville, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be conducted Friday September 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Thursday and from 12-2 on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of Flowers, donations may be given in Bob’s memory to Hikes Point Christian Church Missions or Portland Christian School on Westport Road.
