

Robert E. Boyle, 81, of Louisville passed away December 24, 2012 at his home. He was born in Paris, Kentucky on December 14, 1931. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, VFW post 1170-Middletown, American Legion Post 201, Aero club of Louisville and a longtime member of the Bonnycastle Club. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War.
Bob has a long and varied work history. In 1942 at the age of ten, he started working on Claiborne Farms due to most of the young men being in the service. He worked there every day when he was not in school. Upon graduation he started working for Southern Bell Telephone Company as a lineman. Bob worked his way up to the level of supervising engineer. During his employment with Southern Bell, he worked part time as an engineer for WLEX television station in Lexington. Upon retirement in 1987, he worked for a small mutual insurance company as an agent and adjuster for more than 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Boyle; and two brothers, Jack and Dudley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Boyle; three nieces, Jinnie, Judye and Mary Jane; a step daughter, Kimbra Paulley; and a step-grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be conducted Friday at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 at the funeral home.
