Robert Arthur Cleveland

Bob was born to the late Edwin and Genevieve Cleveland on January 10, 1940. He was a lifelong resident of Louisville, KY graduating from Eastern High School (1958), the University of Louisville (1962), where he played football for five years, and Spalding University (1968). A teacher of biology, health/physical education and driver’s education, and an athletics coach, he retired from the Jefferson County Public School System after thirty-one years. Bob remained a constant supporter of football and basketball at the University of Louisville.

He is survived by his wife, Alice (Akers); two sons, Alex and Aaron (wife, Meg); a daughter, Alison Carroll (husband, Ross); grandgirls, Skylar and Summer Carroll and Courtney Tucker; and two brothers, Tom (wife, Margaret) of Birmingham, AL and David (wife, Sharon) of Liberty, MO.

The family is appreciative of the care provided by the Norton Audubon Oncology staff, Dr. Dennis Sparks and Hosparus of Louisville.

Visitation will be conducted at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 11:00AM -2:00PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
