

Bobby was born in a small house in the Okolona area on September 13, 1940. He attended Southern High School and graduated in 1960. He married Lauren Moody also from the Okolona area on October 28, 1961. Bobby began driving a freight truck for Middle States in 1964 and then Holland Motor Freight Company in 1975, which he retired from in 1998. After retirement he and his beloved wife began venturing out on US roads in their motorhome. They always seemed to land in Florida during the winter months, where they made many friends.
Bobby accepted and received his salvation in October 1978. He became an avid reader of the Scriptures and other Christian books that helped him navigate his relationship with the Lord. Bobby served in many different ministries at churches in both Louisville and in Florida. Most recently he was a member at Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Bobby was survived by his wife Lauren and two children Sherry Sapp (Tom) and Jeff Johnston (Darlene). He is also survived by four grandchildren Amanda Bloomer (Clayton), Emily Kays (Brandon), Katie Troyer (Chris) and Matthew Sapp. Bobby also has six great granddaughters. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Esther Johnston and a sister LaVerne Head.
Bobby was a great provider and protector, he cherished his family and always wanted to know what everyone was doing. He loved to tell stories of past events, whether about his trucking experiences, motorhome travels or church activities. Bobby loved the Lord and always looked for opportunities to share the Good News. He will truly be missed by many.
Visitation will occur on Tuesday, January 30 from 2-7PM and on Wednesday, January 31st from 10-12PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218. A celebration of Robert's life will follow visitation on Wednesday, beginning at 12PM in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. Robert will be entombed within Evergreen Cemetery following all services.
