Robert Charles Payne, of Louisville passed away September 11, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8 , 1944 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Clayton Stanley Payne and Margaret Adams Payne. He was retired from G.E. with over 32 years of service, a member of Union IUE 761 and a United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Payne and two brothers, James Payne and Richard Payne.
He married the love of his life Laura F. Payne on September 13, 1968 and were married for 43 years until her passing on March 24, 2012.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Michelle Heinz and Tonya Wright; two granddaughters, Emma Heinz-Cole and Cheyenne Ford.
A celebration of his life will be conducted at Noon on Saturday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 at the funeral home.
