

Born on February 2, 1948, Bob lived a life marked by service, faith, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Wallace; his daughter, Kristi Wallace; his son, Kenneth Wallace; and his granddaughter, Ashley Elmore.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 48 years, Edna Carron Steele Wallace. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his children; Kim Branham (Hank) of Elizabethtown, Karen Hammack of Louisville, Will Elmore (Becky) of Louisiana, and Melissa Nichols of Indiana. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Dawn Miller of Shepherdsville, Chris Dodson (John Hagerman) of Bloomfield, Dakota Branham of Shepherdsville, Aryn Scott of Prospect, Molly Hammack of Pleasure Ridge Park, Megan Hess (Chad) of Pleasure Ridge Park, Brandon Elmore, Dallas Elmore, Robert Elmore (Jessica) of Fairdale, Max Elmore of Louisiana, Trevor Wallace, and Travis Wallace. He was blessed with 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Bob is also survived by his best friend, Dr. Joseph Blandford of Taylorsville, (fiancé of his late daughter, Kristi Wallace), as well as by his brother-in-law, Eddie Steele (Sheryl) of Franklin; his nieces, Leah Wood and Lacey Steele, both of Franklin; his sister-in-law, Diana Edelman of California; niece, Evelyn Edelman; and nephew, William Edelman.
A proud patriot, Bob dedicated much of his life to serving his country. He served four years in the United States Navy and continued his military career through the United States Air Force Reserves for 25 years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He also faithfully served in the United States Air Force National Guard for 25 years as a noncommissioned locksmith then retired from the state government. His decades of military service reflected his commitment to duty, honor, and country. Raised in a military school, he carried those values of discipline, integrity, and service throughout his life.
In addition to his military service, Bob served his community as a Jefferson County Police Officer for ten years and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Most recently, he worked as a Transport Specialist for T.I.E.S./Borden Mortuary Service.
His calling to serve others extended into ministry, where he became an ordained minister and military chaplain, providing guidance, comfort, and spiritual support.
Bob was an active member of Highview Baptist Church and United Christian Faith Ministries. He was also a member of the St. Matthews-PRP Masonic Lodge #906 F. & A.M. and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Bob was honored with the distinguished title of Kentucky Colonel.
Above all else, Bob was devoted to his family. If someone was in need, he was the first person they could call. His generosity, wisdom, and steadfast presence made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His love extended beyond people to his beloved dogs, whom he cherished deeply.
In his spare time, Bob was an avid reader and enjoyed watching classic John Wayne films. He was a passionate collector of John Wayne memorabilia and Snoopy collectibles, hobbies that brought him much joy throughout the years.
Funeral service will be 12pm Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 4-7pm Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.
Bob's love, compassion, loyalty, and wealth of knowledge will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His memory will be treasured always.
