

47, of Louisville, passed away on the evening of August 12, 2015 at Norton Suburban Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
She was a native of Evansville, IN and a graduate of Bosse High School. After high school Robin received her Bachelor of Science in counseling and guidance from the University of Louisville and was a proud member and past president of the Beta Gamma chapter of Delta Zeta. Her senior year she was awarded the Delta Upsilon Senior Sorority Woman of the Year award, The Mendy Award for female intramural athlete of the year and the IFC Greek Woman of the Year.
After college she traveled the US and Canada for two years as a leadership consultant for Delta Zeta. She then earned her master’s degree in higher education administration/student affairs from The Ohio State University. Robin then went to work for Otterbein University in Westerville, OH. Leaving the University she went to work as a manager for Triangle Real-Estate in Columbus, OH., transitioning into HR at Ashland Oil in Columbus. Upon moving back to Louisville she went to work at Worldbridge Partners, then Adecco and currently she has been operations manager at Yoh Services (a recruiting company).
Robin was a past president of the PTA at St. Bernard and a co-picnic chair at St. Bernard for two years. Her team spirit was boundless as she was always the team mom, who volunteered at the kids school on a weekly basis. She helped start the Live Auctions at St. B. plus many many more.
She touched many lives with her smile, laugh and willingness to accept anybody just the way they are. Anyone who knew Robin knows that she was always giving to others, and focused on charity, family, and friends. She was the life of the party. Things got better when she walked into a room as she was a game changer. If anybody ever danced like no one was looking, it was Robin.
She was preceded in death by her father Bob Powers; mother-in-law, Carolyn Shartzer; her beloved grandmother, Dorothy Sharp; and grandfather Clarence Sharp.
Left cherishing her memory is her loving and devoted husband of 19 years, Ronnie Shartzer Jr.; daughter, Shelby; son, Lee; mother, Peggy Sharp; sister and brother-in-law, Steve and Tammy (Shartzer) Leachman; brother-in-law, Mike Shartzer; nephews, Tyler, Jordan and Miles; and father-in-law Ronnie Shartzer, Sr. Her aunts and uncles Bob and Carolyn (Sharp) Hendrickson, Bob and Jenny(Sharp) Shucker, Jimmy and Melinda Sharp, Michael and Terri Sharp along with many loving cousins and countless friends also survive.
A Life Celebration for Robin will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
