

Rose was born Rose Marie Thornton in 1932 in Louisville, KY to parents, Theresa and William Thornton. She graduated from Ursuline Academy 1950.
Rose and her wonderful husband, Milton married on April 21, 1951 at St. Francis of Rome Catholic Church. They were so happily married for 65 years. Sadly, Milton passed away in 2016.
They, along with 2 other family members, opened the family business, Walker and Thornton Automatic Transmission Service. A successful and well known business throughout Kentucky and Indiana for over 38 years.
Rose dedicated her life to her family, friends and of course, Our Lord and Savior. As for her nieces, nephews, children of friends, all of them wanted to stay with Aunt Rose and Uncle Fuzzy. She was
the defender of children and children loved her. She dedicated countless hours to volunteering at St. Denis and St. Gabriel Schools; time spent in the library, time spent in the lunchroom. She volunteered to drive any of the Sisters of Mount St. Joseph Order at St. Denis to medical appointments.
Her hobbies were reading, crocheting and for many years managing large flower gardens and fence rows filled with gorgeous roses.
Rose is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Mastroberti (Bob) and Laura Fisher (Mike). In addition to her daughters and their husbands, Rose is survived by two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A private funeral service was held on April 5, 2022, attended by immediate family only.
