He was retired from the old Bank of St. Helens, Shelby County Trust Bank and Commonwealth Bank. Mr. Tooley was a Vietnam veteran of the Navy and a member of the Fern Creek United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and UK fan.
Mr. Tooley was preceded in rest by his father, Archie Tooley; his mother, Alice Hormann; a sister, Kathleen Farrell McCracken; and a brother, Alvin Harvey Tooley.
He was survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna Tooley; two daughters, Lisa Head (Chris) and Corinne Rossi (Bob); a son, Roy L. Patton (Kaye); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ivan Leon Tooley (Pat); and a sister, Wilma Louise Reedy.
His memorial service will be on Friday, October 1st, at 2pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with visitation from 11am until the time of service.
