Yates, Roy Kenneth 88, passed away June 13, 2016 with his family by his side. Roy was born June 23, 1927 to the late Roy V. and Kathleen Yates. He was a proud Marine Veteran of WWII. Roy was a prior member of Okolona Christian Church and retired after 31 years from General Electric as a Management Home Laundry Engineer. He was also a member of the G. E. golf and bowling league.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, wife and mother of his children Pat Walker Yates, son Tommy Yates, siblings Frank “Buddy” and Keith Yates.
Roy leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Aline Yates, children Lynn Yates Deckard, Sandra Yates Harlow and Terry Yates, eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Velma Conry, Ann Hovendon(Gene) and Kathy Yates, sister-in-law, Carol Yates.
A service to honor the life of Roy will be held Saturday 10am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Rd. with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2-8pm at the funeral home.
