She was a member of Westport Road Church of Christ and was retired from the American Tobacco Company with 19 years of service.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, G.W. Free; 2 children, Robert Wood Free and Janet Grise (Thomas Mack Grise Jr.) and 2 grandchildren, Natalie Grise and Thomas Mack "Trey" Grise III.
A service to honor the life of Ruby will be conducted at 12NOON on Thursday, August 9, 2012 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road. Interment will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday.
In lieu of customary expressions of sympathy the family has requested memorial gifts to Westport Road Church of Christ or Hosparus.
