Rudolph Joseph Metzmeier

Rudy was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky to Emil Metzmeier and Helen Metzmeier (Verst). Rudy graduated from Trinity High School.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents Emil Metzmeier and Helen Metzmeier, and sister Wanda Hallum. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 57 years, Sherry, two children; Sheila Schuyler, Jeff Metzmeier (Jennifer). Along with 5 grandchildren; Lauren Kulmer, Lisa Brown, Crystal Ming, Regina Schuyler, and Jana Metzmeier, 5 great grandchildren; Lawson Kulmer, Ian Kulmer, Ashlyn Ming, Lexie Brown, and Connor McCloskey. Along with countless friends, and coworkers.

Rudy retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier with over 25 years of dedication to delivering the mail. He later went on to work for Enterprise Rentals where he retired from as well. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers as well as the Okolona Jaycee’s. Rudy was extremely passionate for his love of baseball and coached baseball for the Okolona Little League. He also participated in a senior softball league.

Funeral services will be held at Arch L Heady at Resthaven at 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY on June 27, 2024. Public visitation will be from 10am till 2pm with official service to be held at 2pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Rudy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
