She was born to the late Theresa and George Phelphs. Her six siblings and her husband of 52 years, Robert T. Wellinghurst.
Jo was in accounting for WAVE TV and Radio, and was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament and later became a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Richard Wellinghurst (Lois) and Deborah Boeckman (Danny Schmuckie), three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, sister, Letha Horn, and a host of many friends.
A funeral mass will occur at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40299, on Wednesday, April 10th at 12pm. Visitation will follow mass beginning at 2-6PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, Kentucky 40218. Jo will be laid to rest privately within Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, Kentucky 40218.
