Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, William & Marjorie Jackson; her husband, William Cook; her daughter, Deborah Cook; and her son, William Cook, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Cook; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Those closest to Ruth knew a woman whose devotion to family was steady and unmistakable, expressed through a life shaped by caregiving and quiet, constant love. She found comfort in simple pleasures—enjoying time spent shopping, and settling in to watch television, with Andy Griffith and Golden Girls among the familiar favorites that brought her ease and warmth.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm at the same location.
Burial will take place at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
