An avid gardener who loved her pets, Ruth took special pleasure in hosting family holidays, and she was very proud of her career in cosmetic arts.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Claudia Ann Scheffler, a granddaughter Marian Robin Black, and 2 great grandsons, A. J. Peebles and Lane Nevitt, and 2 nephews John and kevin Shaunessy, and special extended family; the staff at Beehive Assisted Living.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Claude V. Hiestand, her brothers Jimmy Jackson and Louis “Buddy” Hibbs, and sisters Marian Robin Hardesty, and Ester Robin Shaunessy.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be 2pm Monday October 6, 2014 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville. Visitation will from 4-8pm Sunday October 5, at the funeral home.
