She was born November 14, 1917 to Rev. Arthur L. and Florence Kreyling, who have predeceased her. She was a graduate of
Woodbridge High School and Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing in Plainfield, NJ and worked as a nurse until retiring at
62. After living most of her life in New Jersey, she moved to Florida after retiring and remained there until moving to Louisville
3 years ago. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Louisville. Ruth enjoyed playing tennis in her younger years,
traveling and ballroom dancing in her later years.
She is also predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy Ellis, Rev. Arthur Kreyling and Rev. Paul Kreyling, her ex-husband, Carl E. Madsen and her second husband, Maurice Kirby.
She is survived by her children, Carl Christian (Chris) Madsen, his wife, Doris, of Sarasota, FL, Sandra Ruth Schiavi, her husband, John of Louisville, KY, and Eric Arthur Madsen, and his wife, Christy of Hearne, TX; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Private burial will take place in New Jersey. No memorial service is scheduled at this time.
