Mrs. Rae was preceded in death by her husband Donald Rae Sr.; and daughter, Marilyn Scruggs.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church and was also the former office manager for Dr. Foushee's Medical Office and a 15-year resident of the Chapel House. Ruth was an avid quilter, seamstress and a painter of numerous water colors.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Donald "Sonny" Rae Jr. (Kay); grandchildren, Julie Brackett (Joe), Holly Bussey, Donald Rae III (Pia), Chris Rae (Stacey) and Mark Rae; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Shelby, Hayley, Christian, Sean and Alana and great-great-grandson, Benjamin.
A Celebration of Life service will be held noon Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to request that donations in Ruth's name be directed to Hosparus of Louisville.
