Sally Cook Bright transitioned peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, March 8th, 2014, two weeks before her 85th birthday. Born in Shaker Heights, Ohio she was a resident of Louisville for most of her life. She created in her children a love of gardening, traveling, political activism, and independence. She was a talented textile designer, an ardent feminist, and a voracious reader. Sally owned and operated a boutique in Marblehead, Massachusetts for ten years.
Special memories and stories remain with her children, Leslie Bright (Peter Salerno), Rebecca Bright Winn (Greg), Jep Bright (Loyola Walter) and Michael W. Bright (Jean). Sally had six grandchildren; Rebecca, Alex, Julia Rose, Alexander, Dylan, and James and a great grandchild, Jack.
The family will gather privately to honor Sally.
In memory of her love of reading, donations may be made to the Louisville Free Public Library, or Hosparus of Louisville in appreciation of their compassionate care.
