Sammy N. Orick, of Louisville, passed away November 20, 2011 at his daughters home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Harlan County Kentucky on November 21, 1940 to the late Neal Orick and Ruby Ellenberg. He was retired from Ford Motor Company and a Veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Sammy is preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley and Tommy Orick and sisters, Margaret Orick and Barbara Sturgill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janet Morris Orick; two children, Carmen Nace and her husband Scott and Brian Orick; five grandchildren, Autumn, Aiden, Sehara, Jaeleigh and Briston; and sisters, Kathryn Asher and June Farmer.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Wednesday November 23, 2011 at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Tuesday and from 10-12 on Wednesday at the funeral home.
