Sandy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend whose life was marked by deep faith, kindness, and an unwavering love for her family. A former member of Ninth & O Baptist Church and a current member of Shively Baptist Church, she lived her life guided by her Christian faith, offering support, love, and grace to all who knew her. Sandy had a heart for children and was a passionate child care giver that was known for her nurturing spirit. Above all, she was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion lives on through them.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Allie W. Brown and Dorothy Thomas Brown and her loving husband of more than 40 years, Jessie E. New. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cathy New and Jessica Bishop (Chris); her sister, JoAnn Thomas; her granddaughters Hannah and Hailey; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

A viewing for Sandy will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 12:30pm-1:00pm followed by a service beginning at 1:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40213
