

Sandra J. Pohlmann-Fields, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, affectionately known as Sandi to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Born on May 19, 1953, Sandi's life was a testament to love, dedication, and joy, which she shared generously with everyone around her.
Sandi was preceded in death by her parents, Elzy and Catherine Cammack. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Randall L. Fields; daughters, Kelly Pohlmann and Renee Thurman (Jimmy), and step-son, Randy Sommerville (Shannon); grandchildren, Brandon Sommerville (Jessi), Ryan Sommerville, Izzy Thurman, Olivia Thurman, and Trey Thurman; sisters, Kay Cammack and Vicki Bordner (Wayne), along with many adoring nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews,.
Sandi's unwavering commitment to her family was evident in her devotion to her special needs daughter, Kelly. She was a tireless advocate for Kelly's health and well-being, caring for her with boundless love and patience until her passing. Sandi's dedication to her daughter was an inspiration to all who knew her.
An avid fan of the University of Louisville's basketball and football teams, Sandi's enthusiasm for her favorite teams knew no bounds. She traveled far and wide to support them, sharing her passion and team spirit with fellow fans. Sandi's love for gardening was matched only by her love for travel, especially when accompanied by her children. Her garden was a place of beauty and tranquility, reflecting the care and attention she gave to every aspect of her life.
Sandi's zest for life extended to her love for playing games with her kids and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her laughter and joy during these times will be remembered as some of the happiest moments by her family.
A celebration of Sandi’s life will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 2pm-7pm, with a funeral mass at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11am and burial to follow at Highland Memory Garden in Mt. Washington, KY.
