Sandra Kay Sawaya

Sandra Kay Sawaya, “Sandy”, was born on January 21, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky and passed away in the early morning of March 26, 2024 in Missouri. She had lived in Wentzville Missouri for many years, but was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky and always considered this home. Sandy graduated from Ahrens Trade High school in 1962 and then went on to work for the BellSouth Telephone Company. She was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was always laughing, playing practical jokes and if possible, wearing lots of bling. She was a wonderful listener and extremely compassionate. She took great pride in being Nana to her beloved grandchildren and she was everyone’s best friend. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Gardner Luther and Evelyn Reece Stevenson. She is survived by her children: Kimberly Dawn Schulz (husband Michael), Angela Stewart and Cory Senik (wife Skye). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Zachary (wife Samantha), Mariah, Alex, Logan, and Nick. Her surviving siblings include Donna Paskitti of Lubbock, TX, Gary Stevenson (wife Laurie) of Scottsdale, AZ, Deborah Stevens (husband Greg) of Crestwood, KY, Richard Skaggs (wife Diane) of Louisville, KY, Chester “Chet” Stevenson (wife Wilma) and James “Rocco” Stevenson, all of Phoenix Arizona. She is also survived by multiple loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends from all over the country. Services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Resthaven Memorial Park, Arch L. Heady funeral home located at 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation begins at noon, and the service will begin at 2 PM.
