December 1, 1958 - April 20, 2025
Sandy Stout, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister sadly passed away on Easter morning at the age of 66.
Sandy spent warm mornings in her favorite spot, on her backyard swing, listening to music with her dogs always by her side. She would often play Candy Crush and Block Blast, achieving a score so ridiculously high her daughters can only dream of beating it. Sandy loved to sew quilts and knit, especially while relaxing to watch her favorite shows. In the evenings, she would end her nights listening to audiobooks before bedtime. After a lifetime of hard work, these are the ways she enjoyed her retirement.
Sandy grew up the third of five sisters. They would do many things together, such as boating, bowling, working the family paper routes, and riding around in Sandy’s first car, a Volkswagen bug. She also spent much of her time growing up at her grandparents home. Her family knew her as a strong, hard-working, independent woman.
Sandy was a loving mom who helped her daughters, Becky and Kelly, through their most difficult times. There was never a moment she wasn’t there for them. Daily, they would share pictures and chat about grandchildren, new movies, and her favorite game, Zelda. She always looked forward to birthday trips to Huber’s and Joe’s, holidays with family, and making her special jam cake or broccoli casserole. Her daughters cherished the love and support Sandy gave them and loved her deeply in return.
Sandy lived for her time with her granddaughters. She couldn’t wait for her weekly Friday nights with the girls. They would have a blast playing Uno or Sorry, bowling on the Wii, watching movies, or playing music trivia games. She baked and cooked with her grandchildren. She would sit on her swing and watch them play basketball. They always filled her with joy.
Sandy was preceded in death by husband Rick Stout, loving grandparents Ellen and Chester Beckham, mother Laverne Beckham Spears, sister Deborah Johnson Higgins and brothers-in-law C.G. Emmitt and Eddie Mullins.
She will be forever missed by her daughters Rebecca Stout (Kyle) and Kelly Stout (Merritt), Granddaughters Lucia, Sienna, and Imogen Smith, her sisters Karen Smith Clan (Tim), Pamela Emmitt, and Lisa Spears Mullins. She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was a treasure to her entire family. This loss hurts deeply, but Sandy will always be remembered for the love and support she gave to her family and friends.
It was Sandy’s wish to be cremated. In lieu of a service, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
