Sanford Thomas "Tom" Boston, 88, of Louisville, and born on April 16, 1923, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 16, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East. Tom was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army in Africa, France and Italy. He worked for Struck Construction and worked as a foreman on projects in Louisville, including the Board of Education building, Baptist Hospital East and the Louisville Free Public Library. He also built his family's home on Watterson Trail. He was a proficient amatuer painter and claimed to have only two, maybe three vices in his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Goins Boston; his mother, Nannie Baete; his brother, Raymond Boston and son, William Boston.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Paula and two grandchildren, Christina and Arthur.
His Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 p.m. till service time at the funeral home.
