Sandy built a life defined by steady devotion showing up for others with a thoughtful, compassionate spirit and a generosity that asked for nothing in return. She worked in Human Resources for a Financial Institution for 30 plus years, a career that reflected her hard work, care for people, and the quiet diligence with which she carried responsibility.
On September 16, 1978, she married Larry Farmer, and together they shared a marriage marked by enduring love. They had just celebrated their 48th anniversary, a testament to a partnership rooted in commitment and deep affection.
Sandy’s warmth and outgoing nature made her a joy to be around, and her humor could lighten a room in an instant. She found happiness in shopping, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family and friends, whose lives were enriched by her loving presence and the way she made others feel genuinely cherished.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Laslie; grandson, Austin Laslie; and sister, Tara Lambert.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Farmer; children, Dawn Winchell (Chad), Joey Farmer (Angela), Jeanie Russ (Dennis), Johnny Farmer (Tish); 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two more on the way. She is also survived by a host of their close friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 12:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 4:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Memorial Park (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
