He proudly served in the US Army during WWII, with tour duties in Korea and Hawaii as a survey engineer.
Sherley was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; sister, Elenore Hatcher and brother, Paul Smith.
He is survived by his children, Tony (Christina Despain), Scott (Ingrid) and Vicki McCoy (Terry); grandchildren, Allison McCoy, Stefanie McCoy, Ian (Krysten) Smith , Sean Smith and Sarah Graham (Rob); and great grandchildren, Aliya McCoy, Mason McCoy , Olivia Smith, Robby Graham and Andrew Graham.
A Celebration of Sherley’s Life will be held at 2pm on Thursday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville.
Visitation is Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 10 am until time of service.
