Mr. Howard was a native of Harlan County, Kentucky. He was also a retired employee of L & N Railroad and an Army Sergeant having served in the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Lillian Howard, a son Sherman A. Howard Jr. and a grandson, Terry G. Miller Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sharon DeFevers, Shermaine Miller, Diana Kelly, Carolyn Simmons and Donnie Vest, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Evergreen Funeral Home with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral Home from 12-8pm Tuesday.
