

Sheryl Ann Soderberg, 62, loving sister, aunt and friend, was received in the Hands of our Lord on July 23, 2012. She was born to Addy and Henning Soderberg on July 17, 1950. A Louisville native, Sheryl graduated from Southern High School and received bachelor and master degrees from the University of Louisville. Her career in music included teaching at Angela Merici High School and Southern Middle School. Additionally, Sheryl served as organist and accompanist at numerous churches in the Louisville area. Throughout her life, Sheryl was a strong supporter of the U of L School of Music serving as a board member for the School of Music Alumni Association. She also volunteered as a docent at the Louisville Zoo introducing children to the mystery and wonder of snakes. She is survived by her sister, Sandy Dyke (John) of Phoenix, AZ, brother, Terry Soderberg (Susan) of Great Falls VA, and brother, Roger Soderberg (Debbie) of Tulsa OK. Her eight nieces and nephews, two great nieces and three great nephews will miss their “favorite” Aunt Sheryl. She is also survived by her large family of devoted friends and her three cats. Her time with us was too short and she will be missed by all who loved her. A celebration of her life will be held as Ascension Lutheran Church, 13725 Shelbyville Road on August 18, 2012 at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Sheryl to the University of Louisville School of Music Robert Griffith Fund, 2301 S. 3rd Street, Louisville KY, 40292.
