Shirley Ann Owen, age 77, of Louisville passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. She was born December 12, 1940 in Munfordville, KY to the late Grover Owen Sr. and Bertha Mae Waggoner. She is the youngest daughter in a family of six children. Shirley is survived by her sister Alice Carter, brother Grover Owen Jr., son Dorian Ray Owen, daughter Fermosa O. Ware, and many other family members and friends.
She always worked hard to provide for family. Over the years she had various jobs and maintained employment at 120 W. Broadway as a housekeeper for 41 years. Shirley worked there from the time the building was Stouffers Louisville Inn through its time as The Holiday Inn until the building was sold in 2009.
She will be remembered for her wit, generosity, style, good humor and love of family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 12:00 - 2:00pm with a celebration of life at 2:00pm.
