Sondra Celestine Wilhite Garrett was born June 25, 1936 to the union of Celestra C. Wilhite and Josie Ann Beeler Wilhite in Louisville, Kentucky. On April 27, 1957, she married John L. Garrett who preceded her in death on June 23, 2002. Her father preceded her in death February 9, 2002. Her mother preceded her in death August 27 2012. Her sister, Ann C. Wilhite Glover, preceded her in death December 22, 2007.
She passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, leaving to cherish fond memories, four nephews: Daryl K. Glover, Michael A. Glover, Kenneth A. Holt, Mark Holt; two nieces: Monique M. Glover Anderson, Trinel D. Holt; three great nephews, four great nieces, a host of cousins, friends, Reverend Dennis Broughton, who has been there and helped her in so many ways, and Mrs Martha Stills, who has been a family friend.
A visitation for Sondra will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky, on November 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service to follow in the same location on the same date, beginning at 12:00PM. Sondra will be entombed at Evergreen Cemetery, in Louisville, Kentucky. Please join the family for a meal after the service to celebrate Ms. Sondra's life in the event room at Evergreen Funeral Home.
