Souad Ghammachi, 85, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Louisville, passed away peacefully at her daughters home on the evening of November 7, 2012, surrounded by loved ones. She was a native of Haifa, Israel, and the former Souad Mazzawi. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and friends, was an awesome cook and a Catholic by faith.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Fouad Ghammachi; parents, Saeed and Souraya Zahir Mazzawi; and a brother, Emile Mazzawi.
Cherishing her memory are her children, Nadia (Charlie) Chalhoub, Maggie Ghammachi, Nohad Abell, Terri (Tony) Testa, Gabe (Janice) Ghammachi, Elizabeth (Stanley) Aris, Dalal (Steve) Brooks, Ghada (Danny) Wolford; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joules and Elias Mazzawi, and twin sisters, Leilan Ghaleb and Aida Mazzawi.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be on Friday prior to the service from 10 a.m. till noon at the funeral home.
